A: Hi Juliya,
We're not sure exactly what you're asking. The ingredients listed are the current ingredients for the Natural Sunkist Fruit Gems. Feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with more information about your question and we'd be happy to help.

A: I see these listed elsewhere with the new blueberry flavor and no lime. Those have corn syrup in them. Are you sure that yours have no corn syrup?
***Response from NaturalCandyStore: The Blueberry is actually an older flavor. When they first came out with the natural formula, they substituted Blueberry for Lime since they couldn't find a natural green color that worked. A more stable natural green color is available now, so they recently brought back the Lime, and removed the Blueberry. The current formula does not contain corn syrup. It now contains tapioca syrup and we double checked the ingredients list to confirm it is correct! If you are seeing other ingredients on other websites, we can only assume they either have older product or have not updated their website. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Q: Is this product suitable for vegans?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, April 15, 2015 at 04:10:21 PM EDT.
The "color added" in the fruit gems is natural (we do not carry any products with artificial dyes). Here is some additional information from the manufacturer: "The colors are: fruit and vegetable concentrates. The exact fruits and vegetables are considered proprietary."
Let us know if you have any additional questions!
Asked by Anonymous, July 19, 2015 at 04:25:11 PM EDT.
Q: I understand that the exact fruits and vegetable concentrates used are "proprietary" but when you have a child with many food allergies and you are trying to find candy they can enjoy safely, disclosing EXACT ingredients are crucial. Can you at least share if any form of cherry or soy is used? My daughter had a moderate allergic reaction after eating this candy and those are the only two ingredients I can think of that she would be reacting to. Thank you.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, July 21, 2015 at 02:45:42 PM EDT.
A: Hi, Hopefully one day soon complete transparency for all food ingredients including flavors will be required! It can be challenging getting answers with all the layers to the food industry. We contacted Jelly Belly with your question and they said: "Based on the information from our suppliers, no cherry or soy derived ingredients are used." Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com with any additional questions.
Asked by Heidi, November 6, 2015 at 12:11:59 AM EST.
Q: In what country is this candy made?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, November 6, 2015 at 08:49:24 PM EST.
A: Hi Heidi, Jelly Belly recently switched these to their newer factory in Thailand. It appears they are still showing up in the Made in USA categories on our website. We'll fix this ASAP! Please note: This item and one other Sunkist item are the only products we currently carry made in Asia.
the Sunkist Orange Slices and Fruit Gems are not longer made in USA, but they are showing up in USA categories. this needs to be fixed in CV3 and database.

Could you clarify the source of the citric acid and sodium citrate? Also, are the 'colors added' derived from any grain or corn sources?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, September 28, 2015 at 02:06:06 AM EDT.
A: Hi, The manufacturer has stated the citric acid and sodium citrate may be derived form corn. We take that to mean they are likely derived from corn. The "color added" is fruit and vegetable concentrates. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Asked by Suzbert, March 9, 2017 at 09:50:23 PM EST.
Q: What is the diameter of each gem? Are these small enough to fit in a plastic Easter egg?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, September 22, 2017 at 10:24:35 AM EDT.
A: Hello! It seems even the manufacturer was confused about this one, but we finally got an answer for your question about the Vitamin C content in the Natural Sunkist Fruit Gems. :) When we first began carrying the product, they did contain a small amount of vitamin C, but the exact amount was never provided to us, which is why our ingredient information is listed as it currently is. Now the manufacturer states, "It turns out, they currently do NOT contain Vitamin C anymore. (At one time they did contain a small amount.)". We will be updating the description and nutrition information ASAP! Sorry for the confustion! Hope this helps. :)

Q: If the Citric acid is corn derived please update your special diets advanced search database, because we are a corn free family and these still come up when we search no corn ingredients.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, April 18, 2018 at 09:28:25 AM EDT.
A: Hi Carrie! Natural Sunkist Fruit Gems are corn free, meaning they contain no corn ingredients and no corn-derived ingredients. Although citric acid can be derived from corn, the citric acid used in Natural Sunkist Fruit Gems is not. The manufacturer states the following: "Citric Acid in the Fruit Gems comes from the fermentation of sugar." We are glad to verify this for you, as we are dedicated to providing accurate ingredient and allergen information!

Q: Hi, I saw the earlier question about the color added and I also have a food allergy based question. Can you ask the manufacturer whether they use any vegetables from the cabbage family for color? I know that cabbage, red and purple cabbage are often used for natural colors.

Q: Hi, in 2015 you answered a question stating the citric acid was likely derived from corn and in 2018 that these are corn free. Can you please clarify the corn status of the fruit gems, bc if these are corn free, you will make an 8 year old girl EXTREMELY happy. Thanks so much.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, April 2, 2019 at 01:29:38 PM EDT.
A: Hi Genna, THank you for the question. I am glad you reach out to us regarding the Sunkist Fruit Gems. We did reach out to the supplier, who then reached out to the manufacturer to try and get a conclusive answer. Unfortunately, they were unable to find a definitive response as to where the citric acid is from. We wish we could have provided some more detailed information for you and we apologize for that. Please do not hesitate to reach back out regarding other products. We are always happy to do research for our customers and assist in finding the right candy that best suits your needs. :)

Q: Hi, I need to know if there's any apple or grape used in the flavoring or coloring. Just can't chance foods with those allergens! Thanks
Answered by Natural Candy Store, May 3, 2019 at 10:59:23 AM EDT.
A: Hi Lisa, We reached out to the manufacturer and they emailed us the same ingredient list that we also provide: "Sugar, tapioca syrup, citrus pectin, citric acid, natural flavors, orange juice from orange puree concentrate, raspberry juice from concentrate, vegetable and fruit juice (color), grapefruit juice from concentrate, lime juice from concentrate, lemon juice from lemon puree concentrate, turmeric (color), color added." They were unable to confirm that there are is no apple or grape. They have stated "The actual flavor ingredients are considered proprietary to the supplier." Q: It says it's made in peanut free facility but what about other nuts? Also curious about sesame in natural flavors or if used on the same lines. Thanks!
Answered by Natural Candy Store, May 17, 2019 at 03:13:34 PM EDT.
A: Thank you for the question regarding the Natual Sunkist Fruit Gems. The supplier was able to respond regarding your questions and this is what they said back.
"We are only a peanut free facility. Any allergens designated by the FDA will be listed in the ingredients statement."
If you have a strong allergy to other nuts or sesame, we are happy to recommend Surf Sweets gummy products as their facility does not process any of the top 8 allergens. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
