Q: Hello! Happy Holidays! I was wondering if the Maple Spice Gingerbread Man Lollipop contains corn derivatives? (maybe in the flavor extracts?) Thank you for your help. You guys are wonderful! :)

A: Hi Morgan! These don't really have an expiration date, but they could get kind of "melty" with time and exposure to heat and humidity. If you can keep them in cool, dry, dark place they might make it fine. If you have a vacuum sealer, that could make a big difference as well. Let us know if you have any other questions. :)

Q: Does the orange extract contain alcohol? Where do you source your maple syrup from? Are you aware that maple syrup often contains defoamers (that companies are not required to list on the label) and that those defoamers can contain ingredients that are unsafe for corn allergic individuals?

A: Hi Morgan! Thanks for your question about the Maple Spice Gingerbread Man Lollipop. The manufacturer states the following: "The orange extract we use is an essential oil steam extracted and does not contain any alcohol or carriers. We buy the maple syrup directly from a small family-owned producer in northern Vermont, they use refined vegetable oil as a defoamer, no silicone oil or allergens are listed. " Hope this helps!

Q: Hi, Could you please explain to me why there is titanium dioxide in some of these lollipops? I would also like to urge the manufacturer to consider not using titanium dioxide. That is what is holding me back from purchasing. Thank you

A: Hi Tara! That is a great question. We understand the question around this ingredient.
Titanium dioxide is a mineral found in nature. Like iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, etc. it is safe to consume by humans according to the USDA. Titanium dioxide is used as a pigment, and is sometimes called titanium white. It is used by food manufacturers as a natural coloring agent to lighten other colors or to make something look white. Regarding the products we sell, some of the Strawberry Hill lollipops are "frosted" with titanium dioxide to enhance their look. It makes the features on the lollipops stand out visually. Other Strawberry Hill lollipops without the white "frosting" do not contain titanium dioxide - which is about half of the Strawberry Hill Lollipops we carry.
Some people are fine with consideration of titanium dioxide as a consumable natural ingredient. Others are not. Because there are different opinions, we are diligent to disclose it on our website so that customers may make an informed decision for themselves.
