Q: Our daughter is ANA/allergic to soy, wheat, milk, fish, egg, peanut, tree nut, chicken, apple, sesame, garlic, beef, lamb, mustard, shellfish and bison. Is this product safe of these allergens? If not sure is there anyway to get the manufacturers info so that I can call them before I buy it?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, January 20, 2016 at 12:09:54 PM EST.
A: Hi Patricia, We contacted the manufacturer, and they said none of the allergens on your list are present in their facility. They did want to point out that their red and orange colors do contain annatto, which some people are sensitive to. Please let us know if you have any further questions. :)

Q: My son has pineapple, orange and strawberry allergies. Are any of these fruits used for the color in these?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, December 2, 2016 at 10:53:09 PM EST.
A: Hi, None of the fruits mentioned are present in the Red Sanding sugar. The red color actually comes from radish and annatto. If you're looking at other sanding sugars, you can find the sources of the colors under "Misc. Info" on the Ingredients tab on each product page. :)

Q: Hi, in the misc info on this product it states the maltodextrin is made from corn, but in a current response in another product from the same company you state "TruColor Products as of 11-13-2016 do not contain maltodextrin derived from corn as we switched over to Organic Maltodextrin derived from Tapioca." All of the natural color products we carry were manufactured after this date and, therefore, they are corn free " would that apply to the sanding sugars as well? Thank you.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, September 10, 2018 at 04:24:20 PM EDT.
A: Hi Genna! You're right! All TruColor products, both colors and sanding sugars are now made with organic maltodextrin derived from tapioca. Organic Tapioca Maltodextrin is non-GMO and is used as a processing aid; Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda), Calcium Carbonate or Citric Acid is derived from non-GMO cane and/or beet (NOT corn) and is used to control pH. We are updating our product pages now to reflect this information. Thanks for your help!! :)

Q: is this sugar kosher?
Answered by Natural Candy Store, July 2, 2019 at 12:18:30 PM EDT.
A: Good Morning - We apologize for the delay. We have checked with TruColor and all of their products are Kosher, Certified by the Rabbinical Council of California (RCC). We are going to work on updating this on all of our sanding sugars to reflect the dietary attributes. If you have any other questions please let us know. :)
