Q: Is your sunflower oil processed in plant? Are there sunflower seeds in the processing plant? What is the percentage of sunflower oil in the jelly beans?
Answered by Dawn, April 17, 2014 at 07:55:39 PM EDT.
A: Hi Sharon,
Here are the answers to your questions, direct from the manufacturer: "We can't give an exact percentage on the sunflower oil but it's very small (.5-2%). We purchase the sunflower oil from an outside supplier so it's not actually processed in the plant, but is obviously used on a number of products. We don't have sunflower seeds in the plant."

Q: This product notes that it is vegetarian but may not be vegan because of the confectioner's glaze. Does it contain trace amounts of milk or egg? My daughter reacts to even the smallest amounts of dairy.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, February 23, 2016 at 05:46:21 PM EST.
A: Hi Rebecca, Surf Sweets is an allergy-friendly brand and none of the top allergens are present in the factory, so all items are completely free of traces of milk and eggs. Note: Confectioner's glaze isn't considered vegan because it contains lac resin, which actually comes from an insect (similar to honey). Please let us know if you have any other questions. :)

Q: Does this contain strawberries? I looked in the ingredients and didn't see any. However I was just curious if any of the "natural flavorings" could be strawberries.
Answered by Natural Candy Store, February 17, 2016 at 03:47:53 PM EST.
A: Hi Rachel, One of the jelly bean flavors is strawberry, and we confirmed with Surf Sweets that it actually does come from strawberries. Hope that helps!
